How to Add Email Notifications Using Resend

To add email notifications with Resend in Lovable, connect the Resend connector, verify a sending domain in Resend and ask Lovable to send notifications from server-side code. For standard app and authentication emails, Lovable Emails is the built-in default; choose Resend when you specifically need Resend, its tooling or an existing Resend account.

Before you begin

You need a Resend account, control of the sending domain and a clear notification event. Start with Join Lovable if needed. Email recipients should expect messages; this guide is not for cold outreach.

1. Choose the right email service

Use Lovable Emails for standard transactional and authentication emails. Use Resend when your project explicitly requires it. Do not create two competing systems for the same email.

2. Connect Resend and verify a domain

Use the Resend connector rather than pasting a key into chat. In Resend, verify the domain you will send from. A test sender may only be suitable for owner-directed tests.

3. Request one notification

Use the connected Resend integration to email a signed-in customer when their booking is confirmed. Send only from server-side code after the booking is saved. Use my verified sending domain, include a clear subject and plain booking details, avoid sensitive data, and show a non-blocking error if delivery fails.

4. Test delivery

Trigger a real booking with an inbox you control. Check content, links and sender details. Confirm one booking sends one email, and that a failed send does not undo a successfully saved booking.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Emails are rejected

Check that the from address uses a domain verified in Resend and inspect the provider error.

Can browser code send emails?

It should not. Keep credentials and sending logic on the server.

Can I send marketing emails?

Only with appropriate consent and compliance. Transactional notifications and marketing campaigns have different expectations.
