How to Improve SEO on a Lovable Website

To improve SEO on a Lovable website, open More → Analytics → SEO & AI, run the review, and let Lovable apply the fixes: unique page titles and descriptions, a sitemap, clean robots.txt, sensible heading structure and Open Graph tags. Then publish publicly, connect a custom domain and Google Search Console, and keep adding genuinely useful content.
Before you begin
- A published Lovable website. Unpublished, access-restricted and branded workspace URL apps cannot appear in search results at all.
- A search term or two you want to be found for, so the fixes have a direction.
- If you are new to Lovable, join Lovable and publish a first page.
Run the SEO & AI review
-
Open your project and go to More → Analytics → SEO & AI.
-
Run the review. It checks crawlability, metadata, page structure, structured data, the sitemap,
robots.txt, indexing and AI readiness. It works on any project, with extra indexing and Google Search Console checks once your site is published. -
Choose Try to fix on the findings. Running the review is included on all plans; applying fixes uses normal Lovable usage.
-
Publish your changes — the review sees your editor state, but search engines only see the published site.
A prompt that covers the most common gaps:
Run through my SEO findings and fix them in priority order: unique titles and descriptions for every important page, a complete sitemap, correct robots.txt, one H1 per page and Open Graph tags with a sharing image.
Fix the fundamentals yourself
- Unique titles and descriptions. Ask Lovable to give each important page its own title and description rather than reusing the project default. Duplicate metadata is the most common finding.
- One clear H1 per page. Headings should follow a logical order and describe real content.
- Answer-first content. Put a direct answer to the reader’s question near the top of each page, then expand.
- Internal links. Link related pages so crawlers and readers can move between them.
- A custom domain. A domain you own looks more trustworthy than a shared project URL and travels with you if you change tools.
Get indexed
Connect Google Search Console from the Google searches card in the SEO & AI view or by asking Lovable in chat: Lovable can verify the site and submit your sitemap. Publish first, because Google reads the sitemap from the live site. Indexing timing varies — use Search Console’s URL Inspection and request indexing for important new or updated pages.
How to verify it works
- Re-run the SEO & AI review and confirm the findings are resolved.
- View the page source of a live page and check the title, description and Open Graph tags are unique.
- Open
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xmland confirm your real pages are listed. - Watch Search Console for the first impressions.
Common errors and fixes
- The site will not index. It is unpublished or access-restricted. Publish it publicly first.
- Generic metadata everywhere. The initial project metadata is often the same on every page — set per-page titles and descriptions in chat.
- Fixes not visible live. You applied fixes but did not publish. Search engines never see editor-only changes.
- No sitemap. Lovable creates
robots.txtfor new projects but may not create a sitemap; the review can add one.
Frequently asked questions
How long until I rank? Indexing can take days to weeks; ranking depends on competition and content quality. Lovable’s fixes cover the technical side, not guarantees.
Do I need llms.txt? No — Lovable does not require it and a missing file is not a review finding. If your project already has one, Lovable keeps serving it.
Does the plan matter for SEO? The review is included on all plans; custom domains, which help, need a paid plan.
Can Lovable guarantee rankings? No. It improves crawlability and structure; results still depend on your content and competition.
